McDonald's recently discontinued the breakfast McWraps from their menu, these vegan breakfast McWraps are perfect to fill the void in your heart!

Why I Made Vegan Breakfast McWraps
I've talked about it before but I used to love McDonald's growing up. I mean really who didn't? They're one of the biggest companies in the world for a reason. But I haven't been to a Mcdonald's to actually eat in years because I've since learned how terrible they are.
Anyways I used to crush McDonald's breakfast McWraps when I was super hungover in college. They were cheap, greasy, and came in a portable container. But recently Mcdonald's has decided to discontinue the breakfast McWraps for good.
So as an ode to my former drunken college days here is a healthier, better, vegan version of the now-discontinued McDonald's Breakfast McWrap.
How To Make Vegan Breakfast McWraps
These vegan breakfast McWraps are relatively easy to put together with a few tricks here and there. They are also incredibly easy to modify. This recipe is for the classic egg, cheese and sausage breakfast McWrap but I've also included the ingredients as "optional" for a lettuce and tomato breakfast McWrap (which I highly recommend trying).
Ingredients for
- Vegan Egg Patties (we used Just Egg)
- Tortilla Wraps
- Hashbrowns
- Vegan Sausage Patties (we used Gardein)
- Lettuce - optional
- Tomato - optional
- Vegan Bacon - Optional
- Ketchup - optional
Kitchen Equipment I used for recipe:
- Toaster With Warming Rack - This 2 slice toaster is not only super affordable but it comes with a warming rack so while you toast your hashbrowns you can warm up your vegan croissants... WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT?!
- World's Best 15 Piece Knife Set - This is completely just my opinion but this knife set is extremely affordable and it is easily one of the best knife sets I've used in my entire life. I used to buy new cutlery from the grocery store every time I moved (which was a lot) but now I'll never go with another knife set again!
Instructions for Vegan Breakfast McWraps
- Place your hashbrowns in the toaster and toast until golden brown. Alternatively, you can bake them but it takes longer.
- Heat a frying pan on medium-high heat with 1 tablespoon of olive oil. When the pan is heated add your frozen vegan sausage patties. Cook for 3 min and flip. Cook until they're fully cooked through the middle. If you're also using vegan bacon you can cook it at the same time as your vegan sausage.
- In a separate frying pan heat on medium-high heat with 1 tablespoon of olive oil. When the pan is heated add your vegan egg. Cook for 3 minutes and then flip them and immediately add your vegan cheese slice. Cover the frying pan with a lid and cook until the cheese begins to melt.
- At the top middle of a wrap assemble the breakfast McWrap as follows; wrap, vegan bacon, vegan egg, vegan sausage, hashbrown. Fold from the bottom first then from both sides.
- Serve with ketchup, or your favorite dipping sauce, and enjoy!
Pups Notes
- A variation on the classic breakfast McWrap is to add lettuce and tomato for an extra crunch and kick of flavor!
- If you're preparing lots of these breakfast wraps you may want to use a toothpick to keep them closed.
- Frozen Just Egg patties can also be heated in the toaster for an easy alternative to using a frying pan!

Commonly Asked Questions
Does McDonald's still do breakfast wraps?
McDonald's has removed breakfast wraps and bagels from their menu permanently. It started as a temporary seasonal rotation but earlier this year they released a statement saying that they would be removing them indefinitely. Much to the chagrin of consumers, the ratio of the Twitter announcement was huge and people have even set up petitions to get them reintroduced to the menu. But you don't have to wait for Mcdonald's to do the right thing with our easy vegan breakfast McWraps recipe!
Can you make vegan breakfast McWraps ahead of time?
It is not advised to make these ahead of time. These are breakfast McWraps are best enjoyed hot and fresh! The good thing is they don't take much time at all to make and are very portable so they're easy to grab and go!
