This is day 4 of "Le Vegan Pizza Week" a week I totally made up as an excuse in order to eat more pizza, because who doesn't love pizza!?
- Day 1: Vegan Pizza Dough
- Day 2: Homemade Vegan Pizza
- Day 3: Vegan BBQ Chicken Pizza
- Day 4: Vegan Breakfast Pizza (this recipe)
- Day 5: Vegan Butter Chicken Pizza
- Day 6: Vegan Buffalo Ranch Chicken Pizza
- Day 7: Vegan Spicy Perogy Pizza
The first time I ever had a breakfast pizza, I was visiting the University of Saskatchewan for a preseason football game back when I played college football. We were staying on campus and they opened the cafeteria for us while we stayed there. One morning they had breakfast pizzas in the cafeteria and it was the craziest thing I saw but I, of course, tried it and it was an absolute game changer!
Now that I'm vegan though it's been difficult to recreate breakfast pizza, until recently. Thanks to some amazing companies making delicious new vegan products it's so easy to recreate a vegan breakfast pizza!
Ingredients & Price Breakdown
- Pizza Dough ($0.72) For the dough, we generally make our own vegan pizza dough recipe which is super simple and easy to make but sometimes we really just don't feel like baking. You can easily sub in the pizza dough for store-bought (we buy ours from DeLuccas in Winnipeg) it just needs to be able to make a 12-inch pizza.
- Vegan Mozzarella ($6.98) Vegan cheese is always hotly debated and for the most part, it sucks and doesn't melt well. The best cheese we've found that melts well is Myokos Mozzarella. Pro-tip: freeze the cheese before grating it onto the pizza. You could save some money by choosing a different vegan cheese other than Myokos which is the priciest here in Canada but we find that it yields the best results so it's worth the price.
- Just Egg Foldable Patties ($2.89) The frozen Just Egg patties are perfect for this recipe. They're so easy to just grab and go cook with them we use them all the time!
- Beyond Meat Breakfast Sausage Links ($3.47) These are hands down the best vegan breakfast sausage links on the market. They can be pretty tricky to find though so you can just use whichever vegan sausages you have access to.
- Vegan Hollandaise Sauce ($1.11) We created this vegan hollandaise sauce the other day for an easy vegan eggs benedict recipe and I can't stop making it! We toped the pizza with this sauce and it was soooooo good!
- Vegan Bacon Bits ($0.02) Fun fact the original bacon bits are vegan and are made out of textured vegetable protein or TVP.
Total for one 12 in vegan breakfast pizza = $15.19

Recommended Equipment:
- Cast Iron Skillet Set (10 & 12 in) - I use my 12-inch cast-iron skillet almost daily for so many recipes but especially for my vegan pizzas. Pizza stones work great as well but I love the versatility of the cast-iron skillet.
- Pizza Cutter - this is a great tool to cut pizzas. A large knife easily does the trick as well but that's not as fun!
- Outdoor Pizza Oven - I wish I owned one of these outdoor pizza ovens myself but I don't currently have the backyard set-up, I do however have friends that have it and I've seen it in action and it is seriously cool! If you have some money to splurge then I highly recommend this product!
🔪How to Make Vegan Breakfast Pizza
Vegan Pizza Dough
- If you're using pre-packaged dough, prepare the dough according to the package.
- If you're following our vegan pizza dough recipe prepare the dough, and roll it out to fit your stone or skillet.
Vegan Hollandaise
- In a small saucepan melt vegan butter on medium-high heat.
- While the butter melts, add the rest of the hollandaise sauce ingredients to a blender and blend for 5 seconds.
- Once the butter is hot, slowly add it to the blender with the rest of the ingredients on medium speed. Blend together until emulsified, about 1 minute.
Vegan Breakfast Pizza
- Preheat your oven to 425 degrees. Lightly grease your cast-iron skillet. Place your rolled dough in the skillet. To prevent the dough from bubbling, press your knuckles into the dough creating some minor dents.
- In a frying pan cook the Just Egg and Beyond Meat sausages for 3-5 minutes. With a spatula break the Just Egg into smaller pieces.
- Use a brush to spread olive oil on top of the dough. Spread the cheese on top of the dough. Spread the Just Egg, Beyond meat sausage, and vegan bacon bits on top of the cheese.
- Bake the pizza in the oven for 25 minutes.
- While the pizza bakes, prepare the vegan hollandaise sauce.
- Remove the pizza from the oven, top with hollandaise sauce, and chopped basil to the top.
- Slice and serve hot & fresh!
Recipe FAQs
Storing vegan pizza is easy. I usually wait for the pizza to cool completely and once it has I put it into an airtight container and put it in the fridge to eat the next day. Ziploc bags also work well for one or two slices to pack for lunch but we try and reduce the amount of plastic we use.
The best way to reheat vegan pizza is a long-contested and highly debated topic, with many people having their own personal favorites. Here are some of the most popular and effective ways to reheat your vegan pizza:
- Frying pan: on medium heat add your leftover vegan pizza and a bit of water and cover with a lid. The steam will heat the top and the frying pan will keep the bottom crispy.
- Oven/Toaster-Oven: Baking the leftover vegan pizza at 350 degrees for a couple of minutes will ensure that it remains crisp and doesn't get soggy.
- Air Fryer: This may come as a surprise to some people but when I asked this question on Twitter Air Fryer was the most popular response! Place in the air fryer basket at 390 degrees for a few minutes for best results!
- Cold: This one goes without saying but cold leftover pizza is delicious especially when you're hungover!
