The Details
Day 6 of the "Le Vegan Pizza Week" I decided to make a vegan buffalo chicken bacon ranch pizza. This week is totally made-up so I decided to totally make up some crazy pizzas too! Vegan pizzas are notoriously hard to order out, and it's even harder to find an actually good vegan pizza at a restaurant. Most pizza places just over to sub their cheese with a gross generic vegan cheese and that doesn't fly with me. So I committed to creating delicious vegan pizzas that everyone can enjoy!
Day 1: Vegan Pizza Dough
Day 2: Homemade Vegan Pizza
Day 3: Vegan BBQ Chicken Pizza
Day 4: Vegan Breakfast Pizza
Day 5: Vegan Butter Chicken Pizza
Day 6: Vegan Buffalo Ranch Chicken Pizza (this recipe)
Day 7: Vegan Spicy Perogy Pizza
Chicken bacon ranch is by no means a new flavor combination. In fact, it was one of my favorite flavor combos to get at Subway before I went vegan. But I haven't seen many vegan versions of it and even less on pizza so I decided to give it a go!
I'm not going to lie this is probably my favorite pizza from the week! The tangy ranch with the savory vegan mozzarella and the spicy buffalo chicken made from soy curls all come together to have a party in your mouth!
How To Make Vegan Buffalo Chicken Bacon Ranch Pizza
Making your own vegan pizza at home can seem like a daunting task but I assure you that it's not difficult and it is totally worth the effort. You won't be able to make get a quality pizza like this in any restaurant and you don't need any special tools or equipment (although if you do have them it's a bonus). All we have is our oven and a cast-iron skillet.
Ingredients for Vegan Buffalo Chicken Bacon Ranch Pizza
- Pizza Dough ($0.72) For the dough, we generally make our own vegan pizza dough recipe which is super simple and easy to make but sometimes we really just don't feel like baking. You can easily sub in the pizza dough for store-bought (we buy ours from DeLuccas in Winnipeg) it just needs to be able to make a 12-inch pizza.
- Vegan Ranch ($0.54) The base of this recipe is vegan ranch dressing. You can either buy it from the store or make it homemade using our vegan ranch recipe. You'll save some money making it at home and it doesn't take much effort!
- Soy Curls ($0.99) We love soy curls so much that we bought a 12-pound box. Now you certainly don't have to go as crazy as us we do highly recommend checking them out. Soy curls are a whole food product that is high in protein and fiber!
- Vegan Mozzarella ($6.98) Vegan cheese is always hotly debated and for the most part, it sucks and doesn't melt well. The best cheese we've found that melts well is Myokos Mozzarella. Pro-tip: freeze the cheese before grating it onto the pizza. You could save some money by choosing a different vegan cheese other than Myokos which is the priciest here in Canada but we find that it yields the best results so it's worth the price.
- Buffalo Sauce ($0.34) You can also make this sauce very easily by combining vegan butter and hot sauce or simply buying a buffalo wing sauce from the store (most of them are accidentally vegan)
- Vegan Bacon Bits ($0.02) Fun fact the original bacon bits are vegan and are made out of textured vegetable protein or TVP. They're also shelf-stable and last a long time!
- Green Onions ($0.11) We love topping all of our meals with green onions so we always have some in the fridge, they're cheap and you don't need very much to add a ton of flavor to any recipe
Total for one 12-inch pizza = $9.70
Kitchen Equipment I used for recipe:
- Cast Iron Skillet Set (10 & 12 in) - I use my 12-inch cast-iron skillet almost daily for so many recipes but especially for my vegan pizzas. Pizza stones work great as well but I love the versatility of the cast-iron skillet.
- Pizza Cutter - this is a great tool to cut pizzas. A large knife easily does the trick as well but that's not as fun!
- Outdoor Pizza Oven - I wish I owned one of these outdoor pizza ovens myself but I don't currently have the backyard set-up, I do however have friends that have it and I've seen it in action and it is seriously cool! If you have some money to splurge then I highly recommend this product!

Commonly Asked Vegan Buffalo Chicken Bacon Ranch Pizza Questions
How do you store vegan pizza?
Storing vegan pizza is easy. I usually wait for the pizza to cool completely and once it has I put it into an airtight container and put it in the fridge to eat the next day. Ziploc bags also work well for one or two slices to pack for lunch but we try and reduce the amount of plastic we use.
How do you reheat vegan pizza?
The best way to reheat vegan pizza is a long-contested and highly debated topic, with many people having their own personal favorites. Here are some of the most popular and effective ways to reheat your vegan pizza:
- Frying pan: on medium heat add your leftover vegan pizza and a bit of water and cover with a lid. The steam will heat the top and the frying pan will keep the bottom crispy.
- Oven/Toaster-Oven: Baking the leftover vegan pizza at 350 degrees for a couple of minutes will ensure that it remains crisp and doesn't get soggy.
- Air Fryer: This may come as a surprise to some people but when I asked this question on Twitter Air Fryer was the most popular response! Place in the air fryer basket at 390 degrees for a few minutes for best results!
- Cold: This one goes without saying but cold leftover pizza is delicious especially when you're hungover!
